About
Steven Antonio Manes (1993, BE) Belgium based Italian visual artist
Steven Antonio Manes channels emotion with a raw physicality that leaves nothing concealed. Across both his sculptures and drawings, he crafts a singular, deeply personal visual language. Every line springs from the body, every material bears the imprint of something once felt too deep for words.
His work stands as a physical manifestation of inner conflict, a visual diary where emotion, identity, and memory dissolve into tangible form. Manes strives to give form to the formless: the fleeting, overwhelming intensity of human existence.
In his drawings, he scratches emotions onto paper, capturing a perpetual confrontation with the self, a struggle that feels at once deeply personal and universally shared.
His sculptures are raw and instinctive, and therefore profoundly sincere. They call to mind the rugged landscapes of Southern Italy, the wild seas, the fractured rocks,… not only echoing his roots but also the primal force that runs through his work.
He earned his Master’s degree in Sculpture at Sint-Lucas in Ghent (2017).
